Stuart Ashley is an American musical improviser, composer, saxophonist, and woodwind instrumentalist.
Stu began playing the piano at an early age, later taking up the saxophone in his early teens. At age 15, he joined the classical saxophone studio of Vince Gnojek at Kansas University and began teaching and gigging in the Kansas City area.
At 18, he relocated to Los Angeles to study music at the USC Thornton School of Music and join the studio of renowned saxophonist, Bob Sheppard.
He currently resides in Kansas City with his wife, daughter, cat, and chickens.
